A Fulton County sheriff’s deputy has been indicted on multiple counts related to two instances when he is accused of escorting women into private offices at the Fulton County Courthouse and groping them.
Deputy Nakia Dorsey, 38, was indicted Friday on two felony counts of false imprisonment, as well as two misdemeanor counts of sexual battery and one count of simple assault.
According to a release from the office of Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard, the first incident took place in October 2011, when Dorsey took a 20-year-old woman who was in court for a case into an office, detained and fondled her.
The second incident occurred in May 2012, when he took a 27-year-old woman, also in court for a case, into an office under the pretense of returning her property. Instead, according to the release, Dorsey fondled the woman, exposed himself and blocked the door to prevent her leaving.
Dorsey is a six-year veteran of the department, according to the release.
A sheriff’s spokesperson said Dorsey has been on paid leave since June 2012.
By mid-morning Wednesday, a lawyer could not be identified for Dorsey.
