With the governor as mediator, Georgia lawmakers, prosecutors and county governments have reached a compromise that should ensure the passage this year of a juvenile code overhaul and comprehensive juvenile justice reform package, said the House Judiciary Committee chairman.
"At last," said Representative Wendell Willard, R-Sandy Springs, who is sponsoring the bill and has led earlier, unsuccessful attempts to overhaul the state’s 42-year-old juvenile code.
