SAN FRANCISCO — Oracle Corp. has agreed to pay $35 million to settle a class action alleging the company was not paying technical workers overtime because they were misclassified as exempt from state rules on overtime.

Alameda County Superior Court Judge Steven Brick preliminarily approved the settlement Thursday. About 1,725 workers are now eligible to receive average payments of about $13,000 each, said plaintiff attorney Laura Ho from Goldstein, Demchak, Baller, Borgen & Dardarian in Oakland.
