Beijing’s Jiayuan Law Firm has taken the lead role advising state-owned infrastructure company China Communications Construction Co. on its planned $3.1 billion initial public offering in Shanghai. If it proceeds, the listing will be the largest in mainland China so far this year. Jiayuan’s team advising the issuer includes partners Xu Ying, Jiang Shengyang and Shi Zhenjian. Hong Kong’s largest telecommunications company is planning a $1.3 billion spinoff of its phone and broadband business. PCCW Ltd. plans to list its telecom business as a business trust on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, the first deal of its kind in the Chinese special administrative region. Reed Smith Richards Butler partners Graham Winter and Michael Pepper are acting as Hong Kong counsel to PCCW.
