New Jersey officials have filed suit against a nonprofit organization that allegedly charges prisoners and their families for legal services it is not authorized to provide and pockets the money without doing any work.
The Attorney General’s Office and the Division of Consumer Affairs claim that Project Freedom Fund and its executive director, Bruce Buccolo, violated the Consumer Fraud Act and state advertising regulations.
