ALBANY – Unable to muster enough judges for a decision, the state Court of Appeals yesterday ordered a rare reargument in the case involving the extent of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey’s negligence for the 1993 terrorist bombing of the World Trade Center.

The Court also “vouched in” two Appellate Division justices to hear the Aug. 24 reargument: Second Department Presiding Justice A. Gail Prudenti and Acting Third Department Presiding Justice Thomas E. Mercure. They will sit along with Judges Carmen Beauchamp Ciparick, Victoria A. Graffeo, Susan Phillips Read, Theodore T. Jones Jr. and Eugene F. Pigott Jr.
