Clifford Chance is losing the majority of its London funds practice to Weil, Gotshal & Manges, Legal Week reports.
Those moving include practice head Ed Gander, who will be joined at Weil by fellow funds partners Nigel Clark and Nick Benson, and tax partner Jonathan Kandel. (Gander previously left the Magic Circle firm in 2003 to run his own private equity business before rejoining the firm as a partner in 2006.) The group has represented London private equity firm BC Partners Ltd., Dubai-based Abraaj Capital Ltd. and Monaco hedge fund SRM Capital Management.
