April 1 aside, this is no joke. The legal services industry experienced another month of job losses in spite of a six figure employment boost overall for the national economy.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ monthly employment report, released today, legal jobs dropped by 500 in March after 2,000 positions were lost in February. Compared with this point last year, the legal industry is down 800 positions, according to the BLS figures. (Click here for our February jobs report and here for our January coverage.)
