White & Case has boosted its Tokyo office with two partners recruited from Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker, the firm announced last week.
Jun Usami, who was co-chair of Paul Hastings’ Tokyo mergers and acquisition practice, will become co-head of White & Case’s Tokyo corporate practice. Usami is a veteran of several major M&A, private equity, and real estate transactions in the Japan market. Ayako Kawano is a partner specializing in real estate, including fund formations and complex financings.
