New chairmen for the state Senate’s Judiciary and Codes committees were among the assignments announced yesterday by Dean Skelos, R-Rockville Centre, the Senate’s new majority leader.
Senator John J. Bonacic, R-Mount Hope, was picked as the Judiciary Committee chair. Mr. Bonacic, 68, was elected to the Senate in 1998. The Fordham University School of Law graduate and former Orange County assistant district attorney succeeds Senator John L. Sampson, D-Brooklyn.
