A new avenue may have opened up for Chinese immigrants seeking asylum in the United States based on claims of persecution by the Chinese government.
The 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has told the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) to examine whether China has a law punishing its citizens who aid refugees escaping from neighboring North Korea.
