Florida's 3rd District Court of Appeal found the state's ban on adoptions by gays unconstitutional Wednesday by siding with a Miami-Dade circuit court ruling in favor of a foster parent whose application was denied solely because he is gay. Within hours, Gov. Charlie Crist said the state will stop enforcing the law. The Miami appeals court issued its decision on the first opinion date after Crist, an independent U.S. Senate candidate, announced last week that he might consider dropping the state appeal.
