Peter Lichtenbaum, who until recently served as vice president for regulatory compliance and international policy at BAE Systems Inc., started work this week as a partner in Covington & Burling’s Washington, D.C., office. Lichtenbaum will work in the firm’s international trade and finance practices and will advise clients on regulatory compliance and policy efforts.

At BAE Systems Inc., the U.S. subsidiary of the British defense contractor, Lichtenbaum focused on export controls, national security reviews of foreign investments, anti-corruption laws, and other international compliance issues.
