Sen. Arlen Specter, D-Pa., told U.S. Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagan at her confirmation hearing that he was struggling to find a reason to vote for her. Now, he says he’s found a couple reasons.

In an op-ed in USA Today, Specter writes that Kagan “did just enough to win my vote.” The statement should end speculation that Specter would be the only Democratic member of the Senate Judiciary Committee to oppose confirmation.
