Law firms across California seem to be ratcheting up their associate hiring — if ever so slightly.

Delia Swan, a Southern California legal recruiter whose three-person shop focuses on associates as well as partners, says firms are beginning to call her to fill associate positions. The sweet spot, she says, is for those with three to six years of experience. “Firms are starting to call us,” Swan said. “Almost every day I get new jobs.”
