A federal judge has taken aim at parties in commercial litigation who seek redactions or file complaints and other documents under seal.
Disturbed by the increasing number of applications to file complaints under seal or with heavy redactions that runs counter to the presumption of open records in the federal courts, Southern District of New York Judge William H. Pauley denied sealing applications in two cases.
