A federal judge has adjourned for up to three years the sentence of a woman convicted in a tax fraud conspiracy because no one is available to care for her 8-, 4- and 2-year-old children.
Citing “extraordinary circumstances” in United States v. Bueno, 09 CR 625, Southern District of New York Judge Harold Baer said that Janira Bueno does not have to begin serving her two-year prison term for three years or until she finds an appropriate caregiver.
