The federal government rolled out Ponzi king Scott Rothstein’s toys Thursday in Fort Lauderdale, auctioning off his rare sports cars and luxury boats to help reimburse victims of the former lawyer’s $1.2 billion fraud.

The spirited auction brought in nearly $5.8 million in about two hours at the Broward Convention Center. About 200 would-be bidders plunked down between $1,000 and $200,000 each in deposits to bid on items ranging from a 2009 Yamaha personal watercraft to an 87-foot Warren yacht.
