Press releases announcing lateral hires big and small seem to hit The Am Law Daily’s e-mail on an hourly basis.
And then there’s the case of Ken Ziman, a restructuring partner at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett who left for Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom without an announcement from either side. Ziman started work last week, and he took some time Wednesday to speak to us about the move, which Skadden never acknowledged publicly, aside from creating a Web profile for Ziman. It’s not exactly common for partners to leave Simpson, so we were curious to hear Ziman’s reason for moving to the bankruptcy and restructuring department at the Skadden.
