Georgia Judge Paschal A. English Jr. has tendered his resignation in a letter to Gov. Sonny Perdue, effective April 30. English's abrupt resignation comes on the heels of the resignation of a judge from the same court who was being investigated due to sexual harassment allegations. English received national attention in 2002 when he was a contestant on CBS' "Survivor" series, spending more than a month on the Marquesas Islands in the South Pacific. Fellow contestants gave him the affectionate nickname "Pappy."

Griffin Circuit Chief Superior Court Judge Paschal A. English Jr. has tendered his resignation in a letter to Gov. Sonny Perdue. The resignation is effective April 30.
In the three-sentence letter obtained by the Daily Report, dated April 23, English, 66, told Perdue, “It is with great remorse that I tender my resignation, but it is time for me and my family to concentrate on a different direction in our lives.”
