Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft on Wednesday hired the head of DLA Piper’s alternative asset management group.

Drew G.L. Chapman will join as a partner in Cadwalader’s New York office. Chapman said he will be “leading the charge to consolidate and grow” Cadwalader’s hedge fund practice. Among other things, Chapman said Cadwalader will put a focus on mergers and acquisitions in the asset management sector, where he said consolidation is expected. “We want to be at the forefront of that deal work,” he said.
