DLA Piper is raising associate pay by 10 percent, in a move that returns compensation to pre-recession levels. A Thursday memo announced midyear pay hikes in offices outside New York, where first-year associates' salaries had been raised to $160,000 in January. DLA's managing partner said the increase was primarily intended to help retain midlevel associates, noting that the job market didn't demand a raise in starting pay, but that the firm had decided to implement raises for all associates instead of doing so piecemeal.
