A Los Angeles jury awarded his client $50 million in punitive damages. Elias Atallah came to Gwire in early 2005 suspecting he'd been duped by his attorney in a deal that saddled him with a California gas station he'd never be able to operate due to groundwater problems. But it became clear that Atallah's attorney had been as fooled as Atallah was.
