A federal judge denied a motion by the Securities and Exchange Commission Monday to add a new charge to its earlier complaint against Bank of America Corporation.
But U.S. District Judge Jed Rakoff in Manhattan told the SEC it could bring the charge as a separate case, if it wants. It was not immediately known if the agency would do so.
