Ed Shohat was hanging around campus during the summer of 1970 at the University of Miami when he met a young attorney, Don Bierman, who was starting up a law firm.
Bierman needed a law clerk, and Shohat ended up filling that position his entire law school career — the start of a business partnership that lasted 39 years.
