Bingham McCutchen, Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal, and Cozen O'Connor all found themselves with offices in midtown and downtown after completing mergers or acquisitions of large groups of lawyers. In the short term, the firms have been mixing lawyers between offices to avoid effectively operating two separate firms in the Big Apple.
