Just a few months after joining the Trust for Public Land, Sireesha Ghanta is already handling hundreds of deals in which individuals or groups donate or sell real estate to the trust, which in turn transfers it to governments or organizations for parks, historic sites or other natural uses. Since 1972, the trust has transferred ownership of more than 3,500 parcels in 47 states, protecting 2.5 million acres. The job is a perfect mix for the real estate lawyer, whose passion is environmental preservation.

Sireesha C. Ghanta, a real estate lawyer in the Genuine Parts legal department, was surfing the Web one day in pursuit of her passion — environmental preservation — when she went to one of her favorite sites, www.ecojobs.com. And there it was: her dream job.
The Trust for Public Land, a San Francisco-based national nonprofit conservation organization, was looking for another in-house attorney in Atlanta. She applied for the job and soon left Genuine Parts to take it.
