Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft has announced a new covered bonds practice group, following three other law firms' similar debuts. Cadwalader says its group will advise global clients new to covered bonds, a type of debt instrument prevalent in Europe but new to the U.S. financial markets. Lawyers from the firm's New York and London offices with expertise in residential and commercial mortgage loan origination, securitization, tax, insolvency and financial services regulation will participate in the group.
