When marketing a new appellate boutique, it’s always a good idea to win a press-worthy case immediately after opening the doors.

That’s exactly what happened with Hankinson Levinger, a six-lawyer firm opened on July 1 by former Texas Supreme Court Justice Deborah Hankinson, who left the court five years ago, and Jeff Levinger, former head of the appellate practice at Dallas-based Carrington, Coleman, Sloman & Blumenthal.
