A small but growing number of law firms -- most of which are small firms or solo practices -- are joining 1% for the Planet, a network of companies that agree to donate 1 percent of their sales to 1,559 environmental organizations. A nonprofit organization, 1% for the Planet has 888 members. The organization has members in 28 countries that channel more than $12 million in annual contributions, and since its founding, 1% for the Planet has initiated more than $30 million in environmental giving.
