A longtime partner with one of Maine's largest and most prestigious law firms has agreed to plead guilty to two counts of felony theft for stealing money from clients and the firm. John Duncan was fired from Verrill Dana after being accused of stealing more than $300,000 over a 10-year period. Each count is punishable by up to 10 years in prison, but sentences in similar theft cases are generally less than three years.
