President Bush recently announced he will nominate David F. Girard-diCarlo, chairman of Philadelphia’s Blank Rome, to be Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to the Republic of Austria.
Prior to becoming Blank Rome chairman, Girard-diCarlo served for 16 years as the firm’s managing partner. He is also chairman and CEO of Blank Rome Government Relations LLC, headquartered in Washington, D.C. Earlier in his career, he served as a board chairman and chairman of the executive committee of the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce. He received his bachelor’s degree from St. Joseph’s University and his law degree from Villanova University.
