Small San Francisco Firm Is Shutting Its Doors

San Francisco-based McQuaid Bedford & Van Zandt is closing its doors next month. Twelve of its 18 lawyers will join San Francisco Bay Area firm Hanson Bridgett, whose managing partner, Andrew Giacomini, says his firm was eager to acquire the smaller firm's Foster City, Calif., office, and it was an opportunity to expand its core practices, including its representation of local and regional water agencies. For the McQuaid Bedford lawyers, it was about being able to gain the resources of a large firm.

The small, San Francisco-based McQuaid Bedford & Van Zandt will be closing its doors on June 15.

And the following day, the majority of the 12-year-old firm’s attorneys — 12 of the 18 — will join San Francisco Bay Area firm Hanson Bridgett.
