Twelve of its 18 lawyers will join San Francisco Bay Area firm Hanson Bridgett, whose managing partner, Andrew Giacomini, says his firm was eager to acquire the smaller firm's Foster City, Calif., office, and it was an opportunity to expand its core practices, including its representation of local and regional water agencies. For the McQuaid Bedford lawyers, it was about being able to gain the resources of a large firm.
