Immigration and civil rights law expert Kevin R. Johnson has been named dean of the University of California, Davis School of Law, making him the first Latino to head a law school in the University of California system. Johnson, who currently serves as associate dean for academic affairs, co-manages and contributes to the popular immigration law and policy blog ImmigrationProf Blog. "We must do all within our power to remain a top public law school in times of tight budgets and increasing fees," he says.
