Makau Mutua, a noted authority on human rights law, has been named dean of the State University of New York at Buffalo Law School. Mutua joined the law school's faculty and assumed co-directorship of the Buffalo Human Rights Center in 1996, where he is currently the director. Mutua teaches international human rights, international business transactions and international law and has served as interim dean since December 2007, when Nils Olsen returned to the faculty.
