A municipal judge admonished by the New Jersey Supreme Court for arraigning his client’s adversary is now facing a civil rights suit over the incident.

Michael Argen, who brought the ethics complaint against James Newman, formerly a Marlboro Muncipal Court judge, now seeks compensatory and punitive damages in a Monmouth County suit, Argen v. Newman, L-417-08.
