Theodore W. Ullyot, a former high-ranking official in the Bush administration and currently executive vice president and general counsel of a Connecticut investment management firm, will re-join Kirkland & Ellis as a partner in the litigation practice group in the firm’s Washington office, effective today.

Ullyot , who first joined Kirkland as an associate in 1996 and became a partner in 2000, is leaving ESL Investments Inc., where, since 2005, he managed areas including legal and regulatory matters, press and government relations, and compliance programs.
