The Missouri Court of Appeals for the Eastern District denied a law firm's attempts to arbitrate a suit brought by a widow who seeks to recover proceeds from her late husband's 10 million life insurance policy.

In a Tuesday decision, authored by Judge Renée D. Hardin-Tammons, the panel affirmed the St. Louis County Circuit Court's denial of a motion to compel arbitration by attorney Marcus Raichile, Jr. and the Maune Riachile Law Firm (MR Law) in a dispute with the wife of one of the firm's deceased partners. Diane Maune, as personal representative of the estate of her husband Neil J. Maune, sought to retain the proceeds from her husband's $10 million life insurance policy, which the firm had received.
