- On Sept. 4, the Smith Law Firm said it would recommend Johnson & Johnson's proposed bankruptcy plan for nearly 12,000 talc clients it shares with Beasley Allen.
- Beasley Allen also sued Porter Malouf, another plaintiffs' firm in Ridgeland, Mississippi, which had a joint venture agreement with the Smith Law Firm.
- Earlier this year, Johnson & Johnson moved to subpoena Beasley Allen for records about litigation financing of talc lawsuits.
Days after a key plaintiffs' firm threw its support behind Johnson & Johnson's proposed talc bankruptcy, Beasley Allen, the leading opponent to the plan, sued the firm for breach of contract.
