In his Oct. 9 opening statement in a Roundup trial in San Diego, plaintiffs attorney Scott Love told jurors the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s conclusion that the pesticide’s key ingredient was safe had been vacated.

“This is super important. You’re the first jury to ever see that,” Love, of Houston’s Clark, Love & Hutson, said, according to a trial transcript. “The EPA doesn’t really like it. They had their hand slapped. Their conclusion was vacated.”
