Nearly two dozen comments have been received regarding the JD-Next exam, ranging from concerns about the test’s validity and reliability to whether it accommodates examinees with disabilities, but many support its use including numerous Black and Native American professionals.

The comments come as a result of the Council of the American Bar Association Section of Legal Education and Admissions to the Bar’s unusual move on Jan. 16, when the council opened a 30-day notice and comment period seeking comments regarding a report the council had commissioned to determine the reliability and validity of JD-Next to be used as an admissions test for law schools.
