"Respondent's conduct undoubtedly harmed the public's perception of the legal profession by making offensive and disrespectful statements in court and in public about opposing counsel, members of our judiciary, and other government officials. Respondent's statements were republished in various news outlets, widely circulating her misconduct and casting a negative light on New Mexico lawyers," the New Mexico Supreme Court said in a per curiam censure order.

A veteran New Mexico attorney, who avoided a one-year law license suspension, received her public censure this week after she criticized judges, lawmakers and opposing counsel over COVID-19 restrictions during the height of the pandemic.
The New Mexico Supreme Court issued a public censure Jan. 29 to admonish Nancy Ana Garner, who previously entered into a conditional agreement of no contest to certain allegations regarding challenging COVID-19 policies on behalf of two clients.
