Settling a trademark dispute between Irish restaurants and bars, a Massachusetts federal judge granted a motion to dismiss counterclaims filed by a restaurant in Washington, D.C., in a case alleging infringing trademarks.

Dubliner Inc., a District of Columbia corporation that owns and operates an Irish pub called The Dubliner, filed a trademark violation against two Boston pubs/corporations, who went on to bring two counterclaims against Dubliner. The plaintiff filed a motion to dismiss the defendants’ counterclaims, which was granted U.S. District Judge Judith G. Dein of the District of Massachusetts in a Dec. 13 opinion.
