Legal Speak PodcastIn the wake of an eight-figure verdict, Temple University Health Network in Philadelphia decided to revamp its approach to litigation. In this episode, Law.com Litigation reporter Aleeza Furman speaks with Temple's General Counsel John Ryan about how these large verdicts against Temple and other health systems served as an inflection point for the legal department.
Ryan determined that if his team is going to change the outcomes in these verdicts, they needed to bring a better quality of lawyering into the fold. He also brought all of the defense firms together and talked with them about expectations and how the company will measure success. The new strategies have already started paying off with some early successes, according to Ryan.
