Amazon was hit with a landmark equal pay class action lawsuit this week, accusing the company of subjecting its female employees to hostile working environments and underpaying them, while paying their male counterparts higher wages and assigning less work.
The plaintiffs, Caroline Wilmuth, Katherine Schomer and Erin Combs, brought the class action on behalf of themselves and others similarly situated, in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington, and accuses Amazon of gender-based discrimination and retaliation, failing to provide equal pay, and violation family and medical leave laws, according to the complaint filed Monday.
