Iowa becomes the sixth jurisdiction to announce its decision to use the NextGen bar exam—joining Connecticut, Maryland, Missouri, Oregon and Wyoming.
The National Conference of Bar Examiners will launch the NextGen bar exam in July 2026 and will continue using the current bar exam concurrently through the February 2028 administration.
