A Massachusetts federal judge awarded Benchmark Technologies $835,002 in attorney fees and $105,104 in costs in a trade secret misappropriation case, slashing the requested $1.7 million in attorney fees by 50%.
U.S. District Judge Leo T. Sorokin for the District of Massachusetts awarded Benchmark reduced fees and costs resulting from litigation against Yuqiang Tu and Kifnoix Technologies, after determining that Benchmark’s legal representation had been excessive, and that the court was required to deduct an amount approximating the time spent on items other than the Chapter 93A portion of the case, in a May 30 opinion.
