A pair of cases involving public officials blocking people on their social media accounts will head to the U.S. Supreme Court next term after they were granted review Monday morning.

The court will visit the constitutional issue it nearly addressed in Donald Trump v. Knight First Amendment Institute after the former president blocked citizens on Twitter in 2017. A District Court found such blocking violated the First Amendment, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit agreed, but the case was mooted by the Supreme Court in April 2021 after Trump left office.
