The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit is investigating a judicial misconduct complaint alleging that 95-year-old federal appellate Judge Pauline Newman is unfit to fulfill her duties.

The complaint was initiated by the court’s Chief Judge Kimberly Moore after multiple judges and staff members reported extreme delays in Newman’s handling of cases and concerns her attention, focus and memory may be impaired, according to a redacted March 2 order from Moore that was released by the court on Friday.
