Tom Girardi, the disgraced and now disbarred trial lawyer, enjoyed “an extensive network of connections at all levels” of the California state bar while avoiding public discipline for decades, according to reports released Friday by the lawyer-oversight agency.

The two reports, produced by attorneys retained by the state bar to review decades of complaints filed against Girardi, found that, while some allegations did not warrant professional punishment, others were never pursued or quickly dispensed with for no clear reason.
